i went on a coffee date with david ulrich today. for six and a half hours. and it felt like we were there for all of ten minutes. we talked about life, marriage, sex, friendship, god, gymnastics, teachers, and cream chee' wontons to name a few things. we also made a list of ten things for david to do before he turns eighteen in a few days.
i'm very happy that i know him.

mr. grinch
i'm loving christmas. how CRAZY is that??
emily and i decided to put together a little christmas cookie decorating party at my house. so we invited some sweet people, and most of them showed up. minus jay and jake. and they had really good excuses. but anyway, it was ridiculously fun.
emily came over at three and we went and bought the icing and we watched lion king, then michelle and tali came over and we ate pizza and watched the labyrinth [SO GOOD]. then people showed up and left and brought uninvited people, and then left for tishi's party [my party was dubbed the prishi] and it was a really good night. tali and emily each made me a ruben cookie. then em made a jake cookie, but nadja ruined his face.
just a few sweet quotes from the night:
"oh, so he didn't write it with lions?"
"spooning is allowed, forking is not."
"what about sporking?"
"i think i just lost my virginity to your elbow."
"which one's the lady and which one's the tramp?"
"mine represents integration."
"i love defining relationship conversations"
"landon, what are we?"
"...not gay."

christmas cheer?
so far, i have yet to find myself suffering from my annual case of christmas depression. i know, i know, i'm totally the grinch, but i really just don't like it. to be fair, i don't like holidays in general. the combination of large amounts of food and having to pretend to be happy for a few days straight is just a bit much for me. in the end, i usually just feel alone and disappointed. and sick.
but thus far, i haven't run in to this problem. it might be because i haven't started shopping yet, but i was fine when we put up the lights. i had no problem picking out the tree. the music is still annoying, but i'll get over it.
my goal is just not to cry this year.
...i find that very sad, considering the whole point in the first place is to celebrate something so wonderful.

oh life
so i've started my conditioning for lacrosse. oh goody. i'm sore all over the place. and this program lasts for ten weeks. i'm not even finished with week one and i already know i'm going to look pretty good by the end of this. i'm hoping i'll get rid of my pooch. emily and riley, you guys can have it.
school's killing me right now. stats is the only class i enjoy. and that's because i honest to god have to try to understand it. but even so, the teacher is good and if i pay attention and do the work, it starts to make sense. i don't know if i so much love the class...i think i just love learning like that. i've never really been pushed like this before. mind you, i have a c in the class, but the point is i'm a nerd and really honest to god love learning.
i had my first day of SAT prep today, and the woman made me really angry. she was terribly condescending. and i don't remember how to do algebra. or any math for that matter. but i only missed one question on the grammar section. the woman looked really surprised and it kinda made me laugh. i have a few hours of work to do for her, and an essay to write for english II, a letter to the editor for english III, a butt load of stats, and some makeup work for US.
JOOOOY!!
i really like how pointless this whole post was.
i'm shutting up now.

space between us
i've come to find that i might actually be a loner in disguise. i like being around people, i really do. but for some reason, even around the people i know the best, i feel like i'm on the outside looking in.
who knows, maybe we all feel like that.
but for some strange reason i think i separate myself from others on purpose. subconsciously, of course, i seem to keep myself at an arm's length. but to what purpose, i'm not really sure. it might be for protection or possibly because i've often felt like an outsider, and have never known much else.
but tonight, it kind of scared me. maybe i'm too detached. people kept touching me and it made me flinch. i know that's a trust issue because i've been like that for years. but when i feel a need to physically separate myself from people, because i feel emotionally separated, i get worried.
on a much lighter note:
i'm going for my license test tomorrow. so, you should probably stay off the roads, and keep all children inside. thankyouandgoodnight.
